A Quintessential Five-Fold layout Recreating the Grandeur of Old Nanjing
Nanjing, Jiangsu Province

Located in the heart of Nanjing’s main city, this community is situated near the Qinhuai River, the Dabao’en Temple, and Zhonghua Gate.  This rare and unique location enjoys historical and cultural characteristics while combining modern landscapes and high-end residential living.  Covering approximately sixty hectares with low-density development, the project integrates residential, hotel, and commercial functions.

Drawing inspiration from the  residential civilization of the Changgan Street the planning layout utilizes a hierarchy of courtyards, gardens, streets, blocks, lanes, and a central courtyard area with distinctive Chinese characteristics, that combines traditional charm and contemporary aesthetics.

The open streets and alleys are connected to the central park, linking leisure and commercial spaces to emphasize public accessibility.  Simultaneously, the design incorporates the distinctive features of Nanjing's old city, resulting in a unique and stylish residential area.

The entrance features a cascading water feature, simulating the ebb and flow of the Qinhuai River, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of spring waters surrounding the outskirts and enhancing symbolism of the place.

The combination of curved water features and embellishments of stones and plantings adds a poetic touch to the scenery.

The landscape walls and screens incorporate ornamental cultural elements and patterns inspired by Gong Xian's painting "Qing Liang Huan Cui Tu" (Cool and Refreshing Landscape).
