《Senior But Not Old; Concepts and Practices for Building 》
Age-Friendly Communities
Chinese society is rapidly entering an aging population, and the rising senior population with growing needs for a better life will place more emphasis on social groups and interactions, emotions and expressions, health and vitality, as well as beauty and fashion. Through the reflection and practice of a series of elderly community projects, we have gradually formed our own values, which can be summarized into three points: "Multi-Generational", "Mixed-Use", and "Integration".
Multi-Generational Users and Residents;
• Enhance the connection between the elderly and society, promote activeness.
• Increase land utilization and share resources with society.
Mixed-Use Spaces;
• Mix various residential types to meet the needs of the elderly with different ages and physical conditions.
• Mix various residential product types to create richer outdoor spaces.
• Mix various community spaces and functions to complement community functionality with social resources.
Integrated Community Scenarios;
• Design diverse scenarios to provide the elderly with rich sensory stimuli, slowing down aging.
• Provide colorful backdrops for community activity planning.
• Increase attractiveness to visitors, forming unique memory points and talking points.
Indoor module development for community center; social scenario
Thus emerged a new elderly housing model - the "Integrated Senior Living Complex", providing an integrated solution for elderly care, wellness, leisure, entertainment, medical services, etc. By fully utilizing the functions of the community center and commercial amenities, it creates multi-functional, integrated social scenarios, establishes social models, and achieves the transformation from a "life necessity" to a "self-actualization" new type of elderly community.
